How to Start?

It's a cold winters day and I think that it's about time I put finger to keyboard and aired some thoughts. It feels strange to apply private musings to a computer keyboard and then send them out on the Web to see if others are moved to respond or to post an opinion in reply.
I suspect though, that the majority of those who view these ramblings (of which I'm sure there are many; and equally boring) will pass on by to another Blog, another page or just log off out of sheer boredom.
I find the Web to be a fascinating place and simultaneously, a place where those without a more fulfilling life reside to produce information that has no value.
There is a lot of crap out there and a lot of mean spirited and crappy people.
But that's not to say that there isn't a lot of good information there as well and who's to say that some of all of what's out there doesn't have some value to someone, somewhere....some use that can be applied to someones daily life and make a difference in just the small way that was badly needed just at that time.
I would hope that in any subsequent comments I make at this Blog, I either recieve positive feedback, or am able to enter into discussion with others as a close friend might about all sorts of subjects. I'd like to think that there are people around the world who have more ambition than to just judge others based on their own interpretation of some text on a screen and create havoc, but perhaps at 47 years of age I'm still niaive, but I doubt it.
I've seen enough in my travels and working life to know that what forms the news around the world is far from the truth about what happens in most peoples' lives on a day to day basis, apart from, of course, those poor souls in Africa that are struggling through their brief existence, with little or no hope or help.
Congratulations to Bob Geldorf for his determination to see the suffering of these people end. I just hope that apathy is not stronger than his resolve, and that of others.
I have a tendency towards an almost manic criticism of organised religion in the world, and to be fair, there are some involved with them who truly make a difference, no matter that they achieve it through a mis-guided belief that there is a God.
There is not.
I believe there is some force which has an affect on humankind, but not some almighty, demanding, egotistical creator.
There are no sweeping theological rules which apply to those who live in the universe.
There is no ultimate religious truth or reward of any sort.
There is simply the belief system of the individual and if sufficient influence exists for whatever reason, then a group may also hold this belief.
So there it is. Something to start a Blog. It may sit and gather virtual dust. It may prompt ire, or it may start a friendship.
No matter who you are that may read this, whatever your views; drop me a line and talk about it. I won't always respond promptly, day-to-day life takes precedence, and I will not respond at all if your views are just sick or mindless.
For those who will respond to this Blog in the spirit in which it is offered, I welcome our virtual meeting.
